Fee-for Service ChargesFor those without insurance or with high deductibles who don't come to the doctor very often we offer straight fee-for-service charges. These charges are based on Medicare rates, which are low and reasonable for patients. Our charges - if we have to bill - will be approximately 30% higher than Medicare charges for the same service (about what some private insurances pay us for those services - and still less than many offices charge), but will be discounted back down to the Medicare rate if you pay at the time of service with cash, check, or credit card (Visa or Mastercard). We may not always be able to tell you exactly what your fee for an office visit might be ahead of time. This depends upon the level of complexity, number of problems, time spent, other services provided (such as EKG's, lung function tests, injections, etc.). Our staff, though, will be happy to review our fee schedule with you at any time. |
